Oshkosh B'Gosh: The only brand they will ever wear.

-->

1.      Traditionally, advertising agencies created advertising and controlled the advertising for brands. Now technology (iMovie, digital video cameras, Pro Tools, and other such tools) makes it possible for regular people—customers, consumers, anyone—to create, both economically and practically, in ways previously available only to advertising professionals.  Landa, R. (2010) Advertising by Design: Generating and Designing Creative Ideas Across Media. Pg. 12

Oshkosh is obviously a brand targeted towards moms. They sell childrens clothes. Moms already know that the quality is there, they are use to it and know it will withstand just about anything their kids can put it through. Stains, rips and tears no matter what those clothes will be holding up through just about anything. They can wear them until they grow out of them. Even then some stores carry up to the adult sizes still. This is a brand moms trust and know well. They have worn it themselves and they want their kids to wear it because they know how well made it is. Moms don’t want their childrens clothing to get messed up and all torn to pieces. They want clothes that are going to be worn for as long as possible. They out grow their clothes so fast that you don’t want to have to keep buying the same things for them over and over again just to have them be destroyed. When they buy Oshkosh they aren’t only buying clothes they are also buying the guarantee that they will last, they will hold up to much wear and tear and will hold up to many many washes and then some. That is why Oshkosh is the only brand they will ever want to buy and the only brand they will want their children to wear.
 An advertisement (or “ad”) is a specific message constructed to inform, persuade, promote, provoke, or motivate people on behalf of a brand or group. Landa, R. (2010) Advertising by Design: Generating and Designing Creative Ideas Across Media. Pg. 3
